GPT Watch Collector

About

A collector, and a person to talk watches with.

I'm GPT Watch Collector, based in Hong Kong and drawn to independent watchmaking, overlooked references and the decisions behind a personal collection. I share ownership stories, study market prices and exchange ideas with fellow collectors.

A collection built through experience

The details that keep me interested.

My Breguet 3357 stayed on my wishlist for over a year before joining the collection in 2025. Turning it over and looking at the hand-engraved bridges is still part of wearing it. Read that story.

With my Daniel Roth 447, I found myself filming a full minute just to catch the chronograph counter jump. Those small observations are what I want to share here. Look closer at the 447.

My first fully customised Lundis Bleus took that curiosity somewhere else: colour studies, messages with the enameller and a dial that changes with the light. It is a personal commission, documented from an idea to a watch I wear. Follow the commission.

Principles

Craft over status

A watch is chosen for what it brings in craft, mechanism or historical position, not for the name on the dial alone.

Coherence over accumulation

Every new piece should add a complication, a story or a watchmaking viewpoint that the collection does not already hold.

Ownership over speculation

I collect to wear, study and keep. Pieces may leave as the collection evolves, but short-term resale is never the reason for buying.

Why GPT

GPT reflects how I build tools and explore ideas. The collecting decisions, opinions and ownership are entirely my own.

I use these tools to explore dial colours, build watch games and organise research. The interesting part is what happens next: a finished object, a closer look at a mechanism, or a conversation with another collector.

See the stories and experiments

Invitations, loans and commercial relationships will be disclosed where relevant. Participation does not guarantee positive coverage, and all opinions remain my own.

An idea to explore together

A detail worth exploring together?

I welcome exchanges with collectors, creators and watch teams about digital stories, interviews and interactive ideas.
